Elementary-Level Academic information overview
- The elementary-level online system uses a web-based learning management system.. Students only need a computer (a Chromebook or tablet) and a reliable internet connection.
- The curriculum provides: students instruction through a variety of activities including written pieces, audio clips and video content instruction as well as through interactive games to meet your child's learning style and needs. *
- Not every activity needs to be completed, however, all unit assessments do need to be completed.
- A parent, guardian, or designated family member serves as a learning coach and spends significant hands-on time to support and deliver content.
- Additional Supplies needed to support online lessons are sent directly to the families free of charge.
- Required monthly meetings with Stride teachers to access progress and adjust curriculum to meet the individual needs of students.
- Live weekly virtual lessons sessions are available
- Learning Coaches are expected each day to login for attendance purposes.

Technology will be provided by Springfield Schools to ensure that all students have easy access to the online curriculum and to allow for quick troubleshooting by our Family Technology Support staff.
The typical student day
The learning coach will login for the day for attendance purposes. They will make a schedule for the student and spend enough hours to take students through the daily lesson and activities to meet the standards. Students are not required to do all the activities but enough to meet the standard on the unit assessment. If you know your child already knows the material then you may skip directly to the unit assessment . If they meet the standard in the unit assessment you may move onto the next unit.
Supports:
Teachers will also have office hour times following direct instruction to allow for follow up questions or additional supports.
Supplies
Supplies are shipped to the student's home free of charge to supplement lessons.
Parent role
Parents play an integral role in their child’s online learning. Families will serve as the child's "learning coach" and take students through the daily lessons. programs do, they will deliver instruction as well as monitor student progress, help the student with course navigation, explain concepts the student may be having trouble with, and provided much needed motivation and structure for the student.

Technology will be provided by Springfield Schools to ensure that all students have easy access to the online curriculum and to allow for quick troubleshooting by our Family Technology Support staff.
Teacher role and communication + attendance and meetings
Each student will be assigned an advisor teacher who will be the student’s primary contact. That person will act as the student’s counselor, advocate, cheerleader, and all around go-to person. Students will be required to attend scheduled virtual advisor meetings. When those times and frequencies are determined the dates will be located on our online website and the student’s advisor will remind the student as the dates approach. Student attendance will be reported through student contact daily with their advisor teacher by having the student answer specific questions about the their academic progress.
